The combination of the World Conservation Congress with delegates from 170 countries, a visit by President Barack Obama and the approach of two powerful hurricanes has emergency management officials concerned the siren testing may result in public confusion.

Siren testing will resume in October. Any siren sounding before then should be taken seriously and the public should tune in to news reports.
